In a subtle attempt to use similar elements within its vicinity, Berkshire 8 was designed to have a unique style of its own. Engaging the use of natural stone and mild steel as an integral part of its external outlook, Berkshire 8 offers a cozy welcoming feel on its exterior.
The buildings were designed to have a well articulated vertical elements married to horizontal projections and intersections, creating a well resolved rhythm and flow of various elements and material. The strong nature of the elements were toned down with the playful use of color offering the various occupants a unique identity with their homes while remaining a part of a serene, warm and friendly environment.
Berkshire 8 consists of 8 units on a semi-detached linear setting with each unit occupying 3 levels. The interior is characterized by the visual link of the spaces on both the horizontal and vertical plane. The flow of staircases and the white lines created by the balustrades engages the eye in an intriguing flow of lines and tempo.
